Helpful Tips
|
-
Premature wilting is not a sign that the flowers are old. It usually indicates that air is entrapped in the stem and the floral preservative solution can not flow properly up the stem.
-
Recut the stem above the injured section and then submerge the entire flower in a bucket with warm water.
-
Be sure to keep the stem and head straight. Flowers will usually revive within an hour and can be replaced in your arrangement.
-
If you use a porous foam material (usually is green) in assembling your arrangement, it is very important that it is saturated in water with floral preservative dissolved. Be sure that the flowers are inserted firmly well below the solution level. Do not move the stem ends after inserting them into the foam. This may leave an air pocket at the base of the base of the stem.
-
As soon as you receive the flowers place them in a bucket with fresh water and floral food. If you are not able to do it, keep them in a cool place away from the direct sunlight.
